Cranberry Sangria

  • 4 cups of fresh (or thawed frozen) cranberries. Can be made with apples too
  • 1.5 cups of pinot noir
  • 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
  • 2 oranges, squeezed
  • 1/2 tsp of ground allspice
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp orange zest
  • 3 slices ginger root
  • 1/2  Vanilla Bean syrup

Prep several hours in advance of serving. Add cranberries to a saucepan with brown sugar. Allow cranberries to breakdown over medium heat (usually about 5 minutes). Then, slowly add 1/2 cup of pinot noir. Add in all other ingredients – listed above – into the sauce pan (this is so the ingredients don’t separate). Turn heat down to low. Then add in the rest of the pinot noir and sliced oranges. Serve warm or chilled.
